Letter from the Secretary General
Esteemed Sponsors and Delegates,
It is my honor to welcome you to the 45th iteration of the Virginia Model United Nations Conference! My name is Saehee Pérez and it is my privilege to serve as the Secretary-General of VAMUN XLV. My journey with VAMUN began six years ago as a delegate in my freshman year of high school. During that weekend, I fell in love with UVA and developed skills that helped me succeed in my professional and academic life. I hope delegates attending VAMUN XLV will have the same experience I did.
Since our founding, VAMUN has prided itself on high-quality committees and an unforgettable delegate experience that encourages diversity of thoughts and origination of creative ideas. With our varied committee lineup—from our large General Assemblies to our Wilson Global Systems Simulation, a 4-way crisis simulation—VAMUN welcomes all delegates, regardless of experience and interests. We strive to promote diplomacy, encourage the development of a variety of skills, and forge lasting relationships. The VAMUN XLV Secretariat and staff have been working tirelessly to create a memorable conference for all delegates. Feel free to explore our website and social media (@vamun.uva on Instagram) to learn more about the conference, and check regularly for updates.
On behalf of our Secretariat and the UVA International Relations Organization, I would like to extend a sincere thank-you for making VAMUN possible. If you have any questions or feedback, don’t hesitate to reach out to me at secretarygeneral@vamun.org or our USG of Delegations, Priya Buddhavarapu, at delegations@vamun.org.
Thank you for your time and we are eager to host you on Grounds this fall!
Sincerely,
Saehee Pérez
